Since reading The Revelation by Barbara Marx Hubbard recently, my meditations have brought more light to the subject of our evolution into a greater whole, the ORGANISM of the earth, with each of us points of light within the whole, attracting others from near and far as she so beautifully described.

Then Marianne Williamson's wonderful book, The Healing of America, made it even more clear that we must CONSCIOUSLY choose to fulfill our function. Even though we are guided by our Higher Self at all times, we can do so MUCH more when we KNOW that our will IS aligned with God's.

A few days ago an analogy came to mind, that we are related to the Whole like the cells within us relate to our body. The Intelligence that created us lies within each cell, and each grows and performs its function perfectly without our conscious awareness. The red blood cells don't see any separation from the white bone cells which gave them birth. I can't imagine a muscle cell wasting its time wishing it were a brain cell, or a nerve cell wanting to be a hair cell, that would be absurd.

Each merely accepts its function and purpose, and carries out its duties with perfect intelligence, keeping our body operating throughout our lives. And these cells live and die without complaint as well, somehow KNOWING that even in death they serve their purpose for the whole, as the dead outer layer of skin cells serve to protect the living layers below.

Yet we, as "separate" beings, FIGHT our function within our whole Self. Rather than looking within to know ourselves, we look "out there", constantly seeking to change what IS, to be richer, or more famous, or to have a better relationship, a better job, or more material possessions. And in so doing, we block our awareness of our wholeness, and our love.

Then the thought expanded even further, to seeing the interconnections of ALL Creation, the peace and harmony and love within that whole. The cells of a blade of grass must exist in pure bliss as they bask in God's sunlight, converting that pure energy to substance. And there is no complaint when a cow munches that blade of grass, further converting that substance to another, totally different substance, milk. The cow, too, merely accepts its function without complaint, willingly sharing its milk to feed a child, who also accepts that nourishment, converting that substance back into energy through the miracle of LIFE through the harmonious activity of the cells within the body.

And then I realized just how great that wonderful Intelligence that guides us IS. No matter WHAT we "think" with our separate little consciousness, we ARE fulfilling our function in life, and the only lack of harmony is from our limited viewpoint. Just as our blood cells carry food and oxygen to the other cells in our body, so does a truck driver hauling produce between cities fulfill his function WHETHER OR NOT HE IS HAPPY about it. Somehow he manages to drive his truck, even if he had a fight with his wife that morning, even if he injured his thumb.

With that realization came a peace, a happiness, an appreciation for our Creator, and for life itself. With the knowing of our Guidance, and the alignment of our Wills, we can be AWARE of that love, that harmony, and live in the Heaven of Creation rather than the hell of our own making.
