This Is A Test

At a world wide symposium held last spring these questions were asked on: What was the meaning of life? Is there life after death? Does God really exist?

On the panel of emmanent professors were Dr, Pupa Larvae. a genetic specialist, Dr. R. C. Caterpillar, nutritionist extraordinaire and Dr. M. Butterfly an aero space engineer. Here is a paraphrased version of their testimony.

Dr. P.L. said, First and foremost the purpose of life is to survive. Nothing else matters. Statistics show that you have less than a 1% chance of making it. We live in a cruel and hostile planet where life hangs by a thread.

Even if you do make it death comes with certainty. There is no afterlife. I have yet to meet anyone that came back from the dead to tell me life goes on. If there is a God, He is most cruel and vicious. He doesn't care what happens to us, otherwise why would he permit entire colonies to be wiped out willy nilly. This is my report.

The next speaker was Dr. R.C. Caterpillar. Man, Dr. P.L. has it all wrong. Life is to be enjoyed. Eat, drink and be merry. Life is a banquet so go ahead boys and have your fill, you've got nothing else to do. Don't worry about tomorrow or yesterday, life's too short.

There is a Divine Presence that gives us as much to eat as we possibly can have. Our source is unlimited. We don't have to do anything to get it either. I'm having such a good time now, why bother about an afterlife? I mean, who cares? What could be better than this? Thank you, Je-zus. Amen.

The next speaker was Dr. M. Butterfly, With due respect to our previous speakers there is more to life than looking out for yourself. I have dedicated my life to making this planet a little better than it was when I came here. Everywhere I go I leave a little part of me to help the locals grow and prosper. From them I take the best with me on my travels to help others. God and I are co-creators of this world and I make a difference.

I wish others were as evolved as I am so that they could see the harmony and beauty of this universe. Often I have dreams of previous lives where I was greedy and selfish but thank God I am above that now. I owe it all to my spiritual practices.

Now here's the test. Who is right and why? Take the time to answer this test as honestly and truthfully as possible. Your life depends on it.
