WOW!!! Sometimes I am amazed to find hidden, subconscious beliefs that contradict my entire spiritual belief system, as I just did this morning. A Miracle card that pops up in our Tuesday ACIM meetings reads "the price of peace is eternal vigilance", and this was a miraculous demonstration to me that I live with beliefs that limit my expression of God's love.

For the last five years I have LIVED my knowing of our spiritual identity (to the best of my knowledge and belief). There IS nothing I want from the material world, I HAVE no will but God's, and desire ONLY to help others find the same love and peace and happiness that is ours as part of the ONE that IS "all that is". I have given freely of all that I have, with no thought of personal gain or economic benefit, and have repeatedly given or spent my money to further that goal even when it seemed contrary to my self-interests. Yet this morning, I found a limitation, a contradiction, and an acceptance of the human race belief system as part of my own (see Cubicle) that I never knew was there.

Last week a friend sought financial assistance in acquiring a gold mine and mill site near Las Vegas. When I heard the details, I immediately thought of a few wealthy friends who might be interested in making an investment. I had absolutely no reservations about contacting them to discuss something that would offer them substantial benefit, as I know and accept what they value. It was a win-win situation for all concerned, and all of my friends would benefit immensely.

What I realized this morning is that, though I have lived my spiritual beliefs, I have been extremely reluctant to ask others for financial assistance in furthering my spiritual goals. Three years ago, after seeing the effects of the free IS book in people's lives, I was guided to form The IS Foundation to extend that further. I understood that it was to start a new way of publishing free spiritual books to reach those who would not buy a book or seek spiritual growth on their own.

Though IS has expanded tremendously online, and though many people benefit from it every day, I know it still has reached nowhere near the number of people it could. And though I have given or loaned more than $30,000 to The IS Foundation, it has received only minuscule donations from others, and languishes far short of its intended purpose.

And now I see WHY. It was EASY to ask others to invest in something THEY saw of benefit to them, i.e., to make more money, but I could NOT ask them to invest in something I KNOW to be of benefit to the spiritual evolution of the human race, and my personal contribution to that evolution.

And I wondered, how many of us do that? How many of us nod our heads and say they know we are spiritual BEings having a human experience, explore their spiritual self, then turn their attention to the material world and how much money they can acquire and amass to take care of themselves and their families because they KNOW God won't take care of them (see Money).

How ridiculous. How stupid and selfish and arrogant we are (including that human part of myself I refer to as "him" or "he", the part that is not fully aware of I AM (and who, incidentally, is totally forgiven for his ignorance).

When I first wrote IS, I knew it was not MY personal thing, but was the expression of Divine Intelligence THROUGH me, and I was grateful (and still am). I totally understood, and trusted that other parts of the ONE would lend their assistance, would see the "new way" of living referred to on the back cover of IS, and would make donations to extend the giving. Yet what I DIDN'T do was ASK. I accepted race beliefs in self-interest, and investing for economic gain but not for spiritual growth. How stupid, how ignorant, and oh, how USUAL and human.

ENOUGH of that ignorance. I AM asking. What do YOU believe in? Do you agree that we are spiritual BEings? Do you agree that we are evolving as ONE spiritual entity? Do you agree that we are each doing our part in that evolution following the Divine guidance of our soul? Do you agree that we are all here to help each other, to love each other as ourselves, and to see no separation between us?

And now the BIG question. Are you ready to walk the talk and put your money where your mouth is? Are YOU ready and willing to make an INVESTMENT in our spiritual evolution through IS?
